About the Author

Williams was born in 1960 in Memphis, Tennessee, and lived in South Memphis on Latham Street for a short time. His family then moved to West Memphis, Arkansas, west across the Mississippi River, and set up shop at 621 East Woodlawn, right around where the proverbial pine giants in his novel stood.

He’s also a retired Army officer with a B.A. in Anthropology from the University of Memphis and an M.A. in Russian Studies from Florida State University.
